FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long does this take? +

Plan on 45 minutes to an hour at the most. The first few minutes are to make sure we're all set up and to address any last minute questions. The interview itself should last roughly 20 to 30 minutes. Some run a little longer, but if your schedule is tight, just let us know up front and we'll be sure to wrap up on time.

Is there a charge for this? +

No, there is no charge to be a guest on our podcast. We appreciate you sharing your expertise with our audience.

May I preview sample episodes? +

Yes. The original TopSecrets.com podcast has been around for many years. You can listen to those episodes here. Our focus on interviewing Top Performers is new, so you can see a few of those video interviews below.

Is the podcast video or just audio? +

The podcast itself is normally just audio. However, we record the interviews via Zoom calls, which provides the option of using video as well as audio. Many of our guests also like having the ability to showcase their expertise by using the video interview on their own websites. If you require audio only, just let us know in advance so we can accommodate your request.

Can I share the interview on my website? +

Absolutely! Podcasts were made for sharing. You can send them a link right to your episode of the podcast, you can embed the video interview itself on your website, or you can download a copy of the podcast audio and share it however you see fit.

What type of questions will I be asked? +

It's really just a Zoom conversation, so we'll start off with a few basic questions about what you do, how you got started and how you differentiate yourself. The type of questions we ask include things like:

  • Where do most of your customers hear about you?
  • How do you decide who to target?
  • What does your first contact with a prospect usually look like?
  • How do you differentiate yourself from others in your market?
  • What are the primary reasons people give for working with you?
  • When did you start becoming recognized as a leader in your market?
  • What does a typical day look like for you?
Do I have to talk about numbers? +

Some participants are happy to talk about all aspects of their business, from sales or units sold per year, to number of employees, etc. Others prefer not to discuss things like that. Bottom line is that you don't have to talk about anything you don't feel comfortable talking about.

What if I mess up when I'm talking? +

The interview is recorded, so if you need something edited out, just let us know and we'll take care of it.

What if I'm asked a question I don't want to answer? +

Then just say, "I don't want to answer that." The question will be edited out, so no one will even know it was asked.

A few of the benefits to our podcast guests include:

  1. The positioning you'll get as a nationally recognized top producer
  2. The ability to share your interview with potential prospects & clients
  3. The exposure you'll get to motivated agents who will hear what you have to say and potentially want to work with you.
